In his free time he enjoys photography, hiking and fishing.

Cindy Lyons

Cindy Lyons

Cindy Lyons
Senior Staff Writer

As a twenty-six year Veteran of the US Army Reserves and having been disabled in the line of duty, Lyons is no newbie to military issues. As a dedicated military member, she considers her oath the cornerstone of her long career; as a conservative, she considers the US Constitution the cornerstone of our republic and knows all too well the effects of our nation’s deviation from this cornerstone. As a Mom, she has seen the negatives of the progressive encroachment on her children’s K-12 grade school experiences.

While Lyons would rather be writing novels or short stories, she despises being lied to by the sharply expanding federal government; as such, she has become a citizen blogger, self-trained out of deep concern for her nation and in passionate opposition to the current progressive onslaught.

“All behavior has meaning, all behavior has consequences.” With this quote in mind, Lyons seeks to find the hidden dangers, unintended consequences, and constitutionality of our governments’ actions.

Dwan Rager

Dwan Rager is an RN but is currently not employed in that field. Instead, she has combined her passion for writing with her love of liberty to, along with other freedom-loving people, spread the truth of the divine guidance under which our country and its constitution were established and point out how much is at stake should we lose sight of that truth. Rager has traveled extensively overseas and lived in South Africa for several years where she was part of a team that trained young people in leadership development. Her travels and overseas living has allowed her to experience first hand the gift of freedom we have been given as Americans. She lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Burton and her dog, Winston.

Lynda Jones

Lynda Jones

Lynda Jones

No stranger to news reporting, editing, or conservative politics, Lynda Jones is passionate about doing her part to resurrect the Fourth Estate. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Sam Houston State University where she was a Scripps-Howard Foundation Scholarship recipient and editor of the student newspaper. She also holds a master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Jones’ professional experience includes being a general assignment reporter/photographer for an East Texas newspaper and as a high school journalism teacher in the Houston area. She moved from Texas to Colorado Springs in 2007. Jones is enthusiastic about the opportunity to report local news of the Colorado Springs area in an objective, fair and accurate manner.

Mary Coran

Mary Coran

Born April 9th, 1992 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Mary Coran and her family headed to Colorado to help start a church. Growing up in a conservative home, Mary’s parents instilled in her a love for God and country. Her mother, Robin Coran, was always involved in politics at the local and community level and eventually on a national level, serving as Congressman Doug Lamborn’s campaign manager in 2008. Mary began volunteering for political campaigns with her mom at the young age of ten. Mary Coran is currently a senior at Fountain-Fort Carson High School and recently got accepted to Hillsdale College. She is planning on majoring in Political Science and minoring in Journalism.

JM Peterson

JM Peterson

JM Peterson

JM Peterson grew up a military brat, always on the move; her father served in the Air Force and her grandfathers served in WWII and Vietnam. She has resided in Colorado Springs since 1998.

Gaining Mensa membership at age eleven and graduating high school by age sixteen, Peterson was politically aware at a young age, devastated that her generation was largely responsible for the results of the most recent election. A rare conservative in today’s generation, she hopes to let other young conservatives know that they are not alone.

Peterson is currently studying psychology in college and hopes to found a therapy center for veterans after obtaining her doctorate. When not studying, she enjoys writing, drawing, and reading military history or politics, training horses, and frequently exercising her second amendment rights at the shooting range. She is happily married to her husband, an MP who served two tours of duty in Iraq.

J McGuire

J McGuire

J McGuire

J McGuire has lived in Colorado since she was five, having been transplanted from the Chicago area at an early age. Although eclectic might not quite encompass her varied interests, it’s a start. Between photography, gardening, humor, politics, economics, and health research, she stays pretty busy. She has a thorough respect for the military. Recently, she has been studying Chicago politics 101, thinking it wise to know the opposition. On the lighter side of things, her contention is that humor should invade every part of life.

Jim Williams

Jim Williams

Born in the dim and distant past, self-confessed but unrepentant patriot and political junkie, conservative Christian, and former Marine, Jim Williams is a stone that longs to gather moss to no avail. Having lived on both coasts of America the Beautiful and many places between, the native call of the Rocky Mountains and Colorado Springs became irresistible in April of 2000. Long desiring to bring a variegated, some would say bizarre, professional and educational experience into the service of God and Country, the father of three and grandfather of nine is excited about being able to help bring our Country back to its founding ideological roots and republican virtues. He also enjoys fly fishing, hunting Wapiti, hiking “fourteeners” and a good joke.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Teddy M. Otero IV

Teddy M. Otero IV

Theodore M. Otero IV

Teddy Otero spent his childhood traveling much of Europe and the continental United States, courtesy of the United States Air Force. Blessed with multidisciplinary skills, Otero has held jobs across the spectrum of marketing, graphic design, and web development.

Barely aware of his parents’ politics during his childhood, it was the values they instilled in him that ignited Otero’s passion for conservatism early in this decade. (That, or his distant relation to namesake Theodore Roosevelt—his great-grandfather’s godfather.) By 2008 he was annoying all of his friends with frequent political commentary on Facebook, and has since been recruited by The Constitutionalist Today, a publication mirroring his vision for America (to Facebook’s collective relief).

Otero enjoys exploring Colorado with his new bride, Jenny (and Border Collie pup Toby), building computers, and getting lost in the Star Wars galaxy.
